Most beds are bought for a specific moment: for your first own apartment, for a shared bedroom, or for the time with small children. When life changes, the bed is replaced – even though it is often still perfectly fine.
We believe: A good bed should be able to adapt. Wider, when two people sleep in it instead of one. Lower, when children come along. Higher, when getting up becomes more difficult.
What makes a bed that grows with you
A bed only grows with you if it consists of individual, replaceable parts. Glued or screwed frames are hard to change. Our modular bed, by contrast, consists of a few interlocking components made of solid fir:
- Two runners – they determine the width of the bed.
- Slats – one for every ten centimeters of width, all the same length.
- Four supports – they determine the height.
- Felt joints and rubber pads – for quiet nights and a stable base.

Because every part has a clear function, you can replace exactly what needs to be changed. Everything else stays.
Changing width
The modular bed is available in seven widths from 90 to 200 centimeters with a length of 200 centimeters. If you want to make the bed wider or narrower, simply replace the two runners. With the bed widening conversion kit, you receive newly manufactured runners in your target width.
The price is transparent: you pay the difference between the retail prices of the two bed widths (at least €50) plus €98 for processing and shipping. For a wider bed, you will also need additional slats – they are available individually as spare parts.
Changing height
There are three heights to choose from: floor-level, medium, and high. The only difference lies in the four supports. The height adjustment conversion kit includes four supports in the desired height and four fresh rubber pads. The runners, slats, and joints remain as they are.
From single bed to family bed
Two modular beds of the same height can be connected into a continuous sleeping surface with the family bed extension. Two couplings engage with the runners of both beds at the same time. You can read how to plan a family bed in our article Family bed: Connecting two beds into one sleeping surface.
Spare parts instead of new purchases
If something does happen to break, the entire bed does not need to be replaced. Every component – from the runner to the rubber pad – can be reordered individually. You can find an overview under spare parts for the modular bed.
Why this is important
A bed that adapts does not need to be replaced. This saves money, transport costs, and wood. And it turns a piece of furniture into a companion that stays with you through moves, new life phases, and changing mattresses.
